29.1 INTRODUCTION The COVID-19 Testing Group Medicaid coverage was established by section 6004(a)(3) of the Families First Coronavirus Response Act to provide coverage for uninsured individuals otherwise ineligible for coverage for the purposes of receiving testing for coronavirus (COVID- 19). Coverage under the COVID-19 Testing Group may be effective no earlier than March 18, 2020.

NOTE: Effective May 11, 2023, the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency declaration expires. All applications for COVID-19 Testing Group Medicaid must be dated (service date) prior to this effective date to be eligible for the benefit. Applications must be submitted before August 11, 2023 to be covered under this coverage group.
