• If a participant participates longer than this period, the participation hours will not count in meeting the work requirement. • The 12-month period is the current month plus the 11 previous months. • Any holiday or excused absence hours that are used for participation credit for the JR component count toward the time limits. Due to the four consecutive week limit, each month that a participant is enrolled full-time in this component, he must also be enrolled in another allowable component for an average of five or eight hours monthly to meet required monthly participation. This can be any other component listed in 18.10-18.18. Participants in substance abuse treatment and counseling programs and job skills programs required as a result of a positive drug test are placed in this component for the duration of the programs regardless of time limits for this component. After 6 months in this component, the Case Manager must meet with the instructor/counselor and the participant to determine if progress towards program completion is being made before the participant may remain in this component. Determinations to remain in this component must be reviewed monthly and the Case Manager must update the case comments with the information on the status of the participant. After 12 months in this component the Family Support Policy Unit must be contacted for approval to remain in this activity component.
