Job Retention Not applicable Not applicable Case records, support logs (not MSG/credential) 17.3.8.B Credential Attainment Credential attainment is a distinct outcome measure that captures the completion of a recognized diploma, degree, certificate of industry credential. Credentials include high school equivalency, postsecondary certificates, licenses, diplomas, and apprenticeship credentials. 17.3.8.C Counting Participants Across Components If a participant is enrolled in multiple education or work-based learning components during a Federal Fiscal Year (FFY), the individual will be counted in each component. • Example: Jane enrolled in a Vocational Training program in May, which led to a high school equivalency credential. In July of the same year, she entered a work-based learning program that culminated in a trade certificate. Jane would be reported once under Vocational Training (MSG and Credential) and again under Work-Based Learning (MSG and Credential). For a summary of how measurable skill gains and credential attainment apply across components, see 17.3.8.A Component Alignment with Measurable Skill Gains and Credential Attainment.
Note: To validate reporting of credential attainment, E&T providers should maintain documented evidence of a participant’s completion. Acceptable documentation may include:
• Data matches with postsecondary or K-12 systems; • Copies of enrollment record or school records; • Case notes with provider verification; • Transcripts or report cards; or • Copies of diplomas, certificates, or licenses.
