State plan amendment for pharmacist reimbursement.

The department shall submit to the federal department of health and human services an amendment to the state Medical Assistance plan to permit Medical Assistance reimbursement to pharmacists who meet the training requirements specified by the department to administer vaccines, as determined by the department, to a person 6 to 18 years of age. The department shall provide Medical Assistance reimbursement under this subsection if the federal department of health and human services approves the amendment to the state Medical Assistance plan. A pharmacist or pharmacy shall enroll in the federal Vaccines for Children Program under 42 USC 1396s to be eligible for Medical Assistance reimbursement under this subsection.
