(v) Two municipal elected officials appointed by the association 1 of Washington cities with one from an urban city and one from a rural 2 city. 3 (vi) A business owner appointed by the association of Washington 4 business. 5 (vii) A board member or nonstaff person appointed by habitat for 6 humanity Seattle-King & Kittitas counties. 7 (viii) A board member or nonstaff person appointed by the 8 Washington environmental council. 9 (ix) A board member or nonstaff person appointed by building 10 industry association of Washington. 11 (x) A board member or nonstaff person appointed by the Washington 12 realtors association. 13 (xi) A board member or nonstaff person appointed by the 14 Washington building trades council. 15 (xii) A board member or nonstaff person appointed by the 16 Washington building officials association. 17 (xiii) A board member or nonstaff person appointed by the 18 Association of Washington housing authorities. 19 (b) Advisory committees may be established as appropriate to 20 provide the task force with perspectives from public, private, and 21 academic organizations. 22 (c) In addition, the task force shall retain the services of an 23 independent facilitator to assemble, analyze, and present information 24 as directed by the task force. 25 (d) The task force shall convene its first meeting no later than 26 June 1, 2023, and shall choose two cochairs from among its 27 legislative membership. The task force shall submit an interim report 28 to the governor and legislature not later than November 1, 2023, 29 which shall contain, at minimum, the findings to date of the 30 independent fact-finder. The task force shall submit its final report 31 and recommendations for legislative changes, if any, to the governor 32 and the legislature not later than December 1, 2024. 33 (2) The task force will identify: 34 (a) Strategies to increase the diversity and supply of 35 affordable, attainable housing at all income levels; 36 (b) Reforms to land use and zoning laws to increase and diversify 37 housing choices; 38 p. 664 ESSB 5187.SL
