(b) The program must demonstrate a commitment to diversity, 1 equity, and inclusion by providing a safe and supportive environment 2 for individuals of diverse backgrounds, including those who have been 3 historically underrepresented in the outdoor recreation and natural 4 resource sectors, such as indigenous people and people of color. 5 (c) The program must provide both technical outdoor skills 6 training and professional development opportunities that include, but 7 are not limited to, outdoor leadership, representation in the 8 outdoors, and team building. 9 (11) $21,000 of the general fund—state appropriation for fiscal 10 year 2024 is provided solely for implementation of Engrossed 11 Substitute Senate Bill No. 5371 (orca vessel protection).
