ombuds to prepare a report on incarcerated persons who have been in 1 solitary confinement or any other form of restrictive housing more 2 than 120 days in total during their period of incarceration or have 3 been in solitary confinement or any other form of restrictive housing 4 more than 45 consecutive days in the prior fiscal year. The report 5 must: 6 (i) Include the basis on which each person was placed in 7 restrictive housing; 8 (ii) Define the types of restrictive housing used by the 9 department of corrections including, but not limited to, solitary 10 confinement, administrative segregation, disciplinary segregation, 11 protective custody, and maximum custody; 12 (iii) Identify the specific type of restrictive housing each 13 incarcerated person was placed in and the reason for such placement; 14 (iv) Provide information regarding each incarcerated person's 15 underlying offenses; 16 (v) Identify any sanctions imposed during the incarceration of 17 each person; 18 (vi) State the amount of time each person has remaining in total 19 confinement; 20 (vii) Document any attempted suicides by each individual in 21 restrictive housing over the past 10 years and the reason, if known; 22 (viii) Describe the programming offered to and accepted by each 23 incarcerated person during the person's period of restrictive 24 confinement; and 25 (ix) Identify any short-term policies identified, implemented, or 26 improved by the department for the restrictive housing population 27 including, but not limited to, lighting, ventilation, and access to 28 personal property, communication, and visitation. 29 (b) The department shall provide a report to the governor and 30 appropriate committees of the legislature by June 30, 2024. 31 NEW SECTION.
