NON-EDUCATION, NON-WORK COMPONENT: JOB RETENTION Description of the component. Provide a summary of the activities and services. Job Retention Service is an activity designed to help employed participants achieve satisfactory job performance, retain employment, and increase wages over time. In order to qualify, the participant must have secured new employment or received a promotion or increase due to new or additional responsibilities while participating in BFET services. An increase of hours the participant is employed does not qualify the participant or Job Retention Services. Job Retention Services is used when the participant's Basic Food Assistance closes or when the employed participant chooses not to participate in other BFET activities beyond the new employment. Participants engage in the following activities while participating in Job Retention Services: group or individual counseling; coaching and mentoring; case management services including acting as an employer of record liaison for participant employment problem solving, conflict mediation, barrier removal and referral to other services as needed; participant reimbursement assistance for costs such as childcare, transportation, clothing and personal hygiene items. Successful completion of the activity is tracked in our EJAS system via the closure code "Completed Satisfactorily" that is entered by the BFET provider when the participant completes this component. 1/29/26, 10:29 AM State Plan WA FY26 - Original Submission https://dam-fns.usda.gov/sites/default/files/microsite/snapet-wafy26stateplan//index.html 50/309
