Verification with records from the SSA. For an individual who attests to citizenship and has a Social Security number, AHS will transmit their Social Security number and other identifying information to HHS, which will submit it to the SSA for verification. (b) Verification with the records of DHS. For an individual who has documentation that can be verified through DHS and who either attests to lawful immigration status or lawful presence, or who attests to citizenship and for whom AHS cannot substantiate a claim of citizenship through SSA, AHS will transmit information from the individual’s documentation and other identifying information to HHS, which will submit necessary information to DHS for verification.
