1800.1 Procedures to Determine Monthly Benefit Amount

Determining eligibility is a two-step process: Determine if the household meets the program rules; and If eligible, determine the benefit amount.

Determine eligibility for the entire month using the best estimate of income, expenses, and information available for that month.

The method used to calculate a monthly amount depends on knowing the following information for each income and expense source: when started; how often received; period of time intended for; when received; and known future changes.

Once known, use the information to budget current monthly circumstances and to identify future changes, if any.
