1600.2.59 Military Pay

Count the following military allowances as earned income: Base pay BAH BAQ BAS Sea-duty pay Career sea pay VHA Ration ( BAS ) Hazard Pay received prior to deployment to a combat zone or received due to deployment to an area not designated as a combat zone.

Exception : See Combat Pay .

If two payments are received in one month because a holiday or weekend changes the mailing cycle, count the payments for the months for which they are intended.

Exclude CMA s as a reimbursement.

Exclude amounts withheld from paychecks for education programs.
