1300.4.4.3 Enrolling in ICAN in their Third Countable Month
Customers enrolling in ICAN in their third countable month may qualify for a temporary exemption to allow time for them to enroll.
Customers must complete ICAN orientation in their third countable month to qualify for a temporary exemption.
Customers who complete ICAN enrollment may receive up to two additional temporary exemptions (for a maximum of three temporary exemptions) to allow them time to connect to their local ICAN team and complete necessary assessments. The local ICAN team will communicate the need for these additional exemptions to the ICAN team at ESD. The ICAN team will enter the code 15 and CATN. Enrollment means connected to an ICAN partner to complete required paperwork, set up a Vermont Job Links (VJL) account and schedule a meeting with the local employment team.
Temporary exemptions can only be used once per enrollment. If the customer fails to enroll in ICAN following the application of an exemption they do not qualify for additional exemptions.
Customers who are not eligible for ICAN are not eligible for temporary exemptions.
