1100.4.3.4 ICAN Provider Determination
An ICAN provider determination is when an ICAN provider determines that a customer is not a good fit for participation in their available ICAN services and components.
When a provider determination is made a customer is no longer able to access ICAN services from that provider unless re-screened and referred by ESD.
The ICAN provider will submit an ICAN provider determination (PD) form to the ICAN email within 10 days of the determination.
ESD will send the customer a provider determination notice. The notice will include the following information: What a provider determination is; The next steps the state will take; Confirmation the individual is not being sanctioned; and TLBWR information if applicable. Note: TLBWR customers are not exempt from the work requirement because of a provider determination. They must continue to meet their work requirements.
At recertification, or sooner at the customer’s request: Screen and refer the individual to ICAN. Screen for an exemption from the work requirements due to the customer’s physical and mental fitness . Coordinate with other Federal, State, or local employment and training programs to identify work opportunities or assistance for the individual.
