1000.2.2 Newborn

Parents of a newborn child may apply for an SSN for the child at the hospital, when available. A household must provide proof of application for an SSN for a newborn child within six months following the month the baby is born or at its next recertification, whichever is later.

If at the next 3SVT recertification or within 6 months from the date of the child’s birth the child has not met the social security requirement determine if good cause exists.
