1. Locality of Residence Medical assistance applications that are approved are sent to the LDSS in the applicant’s locality of residence or where the individual last lived outside of an institution. 2. Joint Custody Situations A child whose residence is divided between two custodial parents living in different localities is considered to reside in the locality in which he attends school. If the child is not enrolled in school, the parents must decide which locality is the child’s residence for application/ enrollment purposes.
