Table 4 Child Care Income Eligibility and Co-Payment Table Effective: October 1, 2025 Families have a monthly co-payment that is subtracted from the amount of child care assistance (subsidy) a family qualifies for. The co-payment is determined based on (1) household size, (2) countable household income and (3) number of children in child care. Families are responsible to pay their co-payment directly to their provider each month. Families may also have additional out of pocket expenses to pay depending on how much their provider charges for services. Income Group 16 (for each household size) is the maximum income range to qualify for child care assistance. An eligibility worker will determine what income is countable. Table 4 Child Care Income Eligibility and Co-Payment Table Effective: October 1, 2026 Families have a monthly co-payment that is subtracted from the amount of child care assistance (subsidy) a family qualifies for. Entry Limit: Income Group 6 is the entry threshold used for initial eligibility to process an Application. It is the maximum countable income to qualify when applying for child care assistance. Exit Limit: Income Group 10 is the exit threshold used for eligibility to process a Review. It is the maximum countable income to qualify when completing a child care Review. Open Child Care: Income Group 16 is the interim threshold used between Review cycles. Once approved for child care, families may remain income eligible during their full Review period as long as countable income does not exceed the upper income limits found in Group 16. • See income limits for changes that must be reported within 10 days of the change. Special Needs: Income Group 16 is the threshold for families approved for Special Needs Child Care. These families may qualify at a higher income limit for both entry and exit income levels.
