Policy Effective: July 1, 2021
Unrelated Adults living together will each be considered a separate household when they do not have a child in common.
Unrelated Adults living together with a child in common will be considered one household.
When an unrelated adult has legal custody of a child, treat the adult as you would a parent. Determine if it is a single parent or a two-parent household. Determine need for child care, count the income and assess the co-payment.
An unrelated adult who does not have legal custody established by a court order for a child cannot receive Child Care assistance for that child. The child is not to be included in the Child Care filing unit.
