Policy Effective: April 1, 2004
For Employment Support Child Care, related adults, other than parents with a child in common, living together will each be considered a separate household.
When joint custody has been granted in a divorce and the adult parents each have a need for child care during the time the child spends with each parent, each parent will have a separate case. Participation hours of the parent will be based on the time the child is actually with them and needs child care.
Follow the policy in policy 425-21 when joint custody has not been granted and the divorce decree names an amount separate from child support as payment for child care.
When a parent does not have legal custody, but has physical custody of the child, he may be eligible for child care if other eligibility requirements are met.
