Financial and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
It is good cause if the customer reports that he cannot apply for the Social Security Number (SSN) card because he lacks information to give to SSA, but has made every effort to get that information.
Good cause does not include delays due to illness, lack of transportation, or temporary absences.
When good cause has been determined, the customer may receive SNAP benefits for the month of application and one additional month. After the second month the customer must submit proof each month that there is good cause for not applying for the SSN card.
