Policy Effective: February 1, 2020
The Family Employment Program (FEP) provides families an option of Diversion assistance to resolve a temporary crisis situation instead of receiving ongoing Financial assistance. The household is not eligible for FEP Child Care during the three-month diversion period or for six-months of Transitional Child Care. Diversion customers may be eligible for Employment Support Child Care (ESCC).
See policy 210-3 for ESCC general information and 330-2 for participation requirements.
The household may request ESCC during the FEP assessment with the Employment Counselor or when determined eligible for Diversion. If ESCC is requested, the start date will be the date of request. ESCC may not start any earlier than the date of request, unless applied for at the same time as the Financial application.
Note : If a Diversion is authorized and ESCC was received in the month of the financial application or in the month prior to and FEP Child Care was not issued, the customer will remain eligible for ESCC throughout the 12 month certification period.
A customer must apply for Child Care assistance if all programs requested on the application have been approved or denied. If there is a program in received status after the Diversion has been issued, the customer may request to add child care without completing a new application. See policy 705 .
