Policy Effective: April 1, 2004

A specified relative who has a specific relationship to a child in the home may apply for Financial assistance for that child when the child is living with the specified relative and the child's parents are absent from the home.

The child may receive Medicaid. The specified relative may also receive medical assistance if eligibility requirements are met. See the Medicaid Eligibility Manual .

The specified relative may be eligible for Child Care.

If the specified relative is included in the Financial assistance payment, Family Employment Program (FEP) Child Care would be used.

If the specified relative is not included in the Financial assistance payment, Employment Support Child Care would be used.
