When Information cannot be Released

Information will not be released when it is to be used for a commercial or political reason.

Taxpayer requests to view public assistance payrolls will be denied.

If any source other than the customer requests information for any reason that is not included in this section, the information must not be released.

If the case file is subpoenaed by an outside source, immediately contact the DWS Information Disclosure Officer located in the Legal Division at DWS Administration. The DWS Disclosure Officer and/or DWS legal counsel for the DWS will ask the court to disallow the information from our case records. The legal counsel will cite Federal and State rules and this manual concerning the privacy and requirement to safeguard information concerning customers receiving assistance.
