If a required report is received late, a parent or caretaker relative may claim good cause for being late. Examples of good cause for a late report are:
· The eligibility agency mailed the report after the 25th of the month before the report month.
· The eligibility agency sent the report to the wrong address.
· The parent/caretaker relative or family member was ill.
· There was a death in the family.
· The employer delayed or refused to provide proof of income.
· An eligibility agency supervisor decides that the household had good cause for other reasons.
If good cause exists, complete the review. Eligibility may continue if the member's income after child care expenses does not exceed 185% of the FPL.
