103.2 Medical Assistance Program

Any individual who is eligible for financial assistance is also eligible for Medical Assistance and receives a medical card called the Pennsylvania ACCESS card .

55 Pa. Code § 101.1(e)(1)

The individual presents the card to medical service providers, who will use the card to:

Verify eligibility on the Eligibility Verification System (EVS) .

Get information to bill DHS for services performed.

The card is used for all services covered by DHS . Payments are always made to the medical providers . An individual cannot be reimbursed.
