If the client or their estate cannot be located after the payment was authorized, the funds must be remitted to the Oregon Department of State Lands as unclaimed property (Oregon State Treasury Unclaimed Property) 2. Direct Payments If a client benefit payment is unable to reach its intended recipient once authorized, it is property of the client and must be remitted to Oregon State Lands as unclaimed property If the client has passed away after the payment was authorized, it becomes property of the client’s estate. If their estate is unable to be located, the funds must be remitted to the Oregon Department of State Lands as unclaimed property (Oregon State Treasury Unclaimed Property).
