Service area - Klamath County
Service population – Enrolled members of the Klamath Tribes with dependent children including: Single- parent families, two-parent families and caretaker relative (nonparent) families. Families who indicate tribal enrollment with the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians must apply for Tribal TANF through the tribe if they:
Reside within the service area of the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians, and
Belong to the respective tribal service population. Enrolled members of the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians will first need to apply directly with the tribe for TANF services. They do not have the option of applying to the Oregon Department of Human Services (ODHS) for TANF services. The tribe will then determine whether these families meet their Tribal TANF program eligibility criteria. The eligibility criteria is established by each tribe and are not required to be consistent with the ODHS TANF program. If a family fails to meet the Tribal TANF eligibility criteria as determined by the tribe, they may apply for and receive ODHS TANF services. If a family is determined to be ineligible for Tribal TANF services solely due to the imposition of a Tribal TANF sanction, that family is not eligible for ODHS TANF services. Tribal TANF families are not eligible for ODHS JOBS services. When financial assistance for support service is needed, Tribal TANF participants must seek that assistance from the tribe.
