ODHS|OHA may not re-verify or require re-verification of citizenship at a renewal of eligibility or subsequent application following a break in coverage • Adults who attest to having an immigration status that is a non-qualified non-citizen status or an individual of any age who does not have a status. For medical programs, there is a reasonable opportunity period: • ONE will attempt to verify citizenship or immigration information for applicants who are U.S. citizens or non- citizens whose status is subject to the immigration verification requirements. • If the system is unable to verify the individual’s self-attestation, benefits are approved based on their self- attestation and an RFI is sent. The RFI allows 95 days for the applicant to resolve the discrepancy regarding their U.S. citizenship or immigration status. For ERDC, children may be eligible for child care regardless of citizenship or immigration status requirements. Verification of citizenship and immigration status is not required for children to receive ERDC benefits. If immigration status documentation is received, continue to enter the information into ONE and upload documentation to the electronic case file. Work quarters for non-citizens ODHS|OHA staff may verify 40 qualifying work quarters for non-citizens by accessing the Social Security Administration’s (SSA) Quarters of Coverage History System (QCHS), verifying work income and calculating the appropriate quarters using SSA’s methodology, or a combination of both.
