202 (07/2026) Chapter 2:Eligibility • Section 4: Household information The individual who is in violation of parole, probation or post-prison supervision is ineligible and is removed from the need group. Other individuals in the benefit group may remain eligible for benefits. The parole, probation or post-prison supervision violator’s income and resources are still considered when determining eligibility. SNAP No additional program-specific information. TANF No additional program-specific information. ERDC This does not apply to the ERDC program. REF No additional program-specific information. MSP This does not apply to MSP. OSIPM This does not apply to OSIPM. HSD This does not apply to HSD medical programs. Failure to cooperate with the Oregon Child Support Program (OCSP) This applies specifically to the TANF and medical programs. SNAP This does not apply to the SNAP program. TANF To qualify for benefits, TANF applicants must assign their support rights and must agree to cooperate with child support unless good cause exists. Assignment allows OCSP to pursue, collect and keep child support and spousal support for any members in the benefit group.
Participants must cooperate with OCSP unless good cause exists. Cooperation with OCSP includes assisting in establishing paternity and obtaining support cash payments.

In this situation, explore whether the family has a safety concern with pursuit of child support and whether good cause would be appropriate.. Sanctions for failure to cooperate with child support • For applicants: Applications and renewal for cash benefits are denied for the entire family who fail to agree to cooperate and there is not good cause. • For open TANF cases: Before a worker can impose a child support sanction, good cause must be determined. The family coach will attempt to reach the participant by phone. If unable to reach the participant by phone the same day the task is received the family coach will send a Child Support Cooperation 1-019 pend to the participant to determine if there is good cause for not cooperating with OCSP.
