Oregon Administrative Rule(s) 461-196-0090 – Income Availability; SEBT 461-196-0120 – Budgeting; SEBT Verification Children who are determined to be eligible through streamlined certification are not required to provide verification. SEBT applications are subject to the following verification requirements at any time during the eligibility period. Verification for Cause Verification for Cause is a process used to check questionable applications individually and, on a case-by-case basis. This process is applied when there’s conflicting or inconsistent information in the applications. • The Department can verify an application for cause at any time during the school year or summer operational period. However, this verification must be completed within 30 days of receiving the application. • Verification for cause does not need to occur before the application is approved and can happen at any time during the eligibility period. • Benefits cannot be issued until the verification is processed. • If a filing group refuses to cooperate with the verification request, SEBT benefits will be denied. Oregon Administrative Rule(s) 461-196-0080 – Verification; SEBT Eligibility period The eligibility period for SEBT is the first day of the instructional year (July 1st) through the end of the summer operational period. For example: The 2025/2026 program year, the eligibility period is July 1, 2025, to September 1, 2026. Issuance of Benefits For streamlined certification or an approved application on file, benefits will be issued 7 to 14 calendar days before the summer operational period begins. If the filing group applies after the start of the summer operational period, SEBT benefits will be issued within 15 business days of receiving a completed application.
