Applicants selected from the waitlist who request benefits after the deadline on the selection letter will be returned to the ERDC waitlist to await future selection. • Although the application process should be completed as soon as possible, the applicant and worker have 45 days from the date of request to complete it. The 45 days can be extended if circumstances beyond the control of the applicant delay the eligibility decision past that limit. • The date of request also establishes when benefits can begin. This is the first day of the month in which the request is made if eligibility requirements and application processing time frames are met. • The date of request for applicants selected from the ERDC waitlist is the first day of the month in which the request is made after being selected, if eligibility requirements and application processing time frames are met. Annual Refresh Process To help keep the waitlist up to date and manageable, DELC conducts an annual refresh process to remove families who no longer wish to remain on the list or who do not respond to outreach. This process helps confirm continued interest in ERDC benefits and supports maintaining a list that reflects active demand for the program. DELC sends communication to eligibility staff announcing the start of a refresh period. As part of the annual waitlist refresh process, families on the waitlist will: • Be contacted and asked to confirm their interest in remaining on the list. • Maintain their original waitlist number if they respond that they wish to remain on the list. • Be removed from the list if they do not respond or indicate they are no longer interested in remaining on the list, and would need to reapply to be placed back on the list with a new waitlist number. • Have the option to request an administrative review if they disagree with being removed. If an error is found, they will be reinstated to their original position. This process helps DELC manage resources effectively and prioritize families who actively want ERDC assistance.
