Assignment to this component will be determined through the employability assessment. As SNAP recipients have varied lived experiences, needs, interests, education, and employment backgrounds, the appropriateness of the referral to a specific SNAP E&T component including supervised job search is based on a combination of all factors listed. The process is individualized and tailored to the participant’s circumstances, needs, and preferences. When determining assignments to E&T components, including supervised job search, the Employment Unit worker/contracted provider staff considers the following: • information collected during the assessment including, at a minimum, a review of the individual’s: 1) education level, including literacy and English language proficiency; 2) basic skills proficiency; 3) child care and other supportive service needs; 4) skills and prior work experience; 5) prior participation in education and training; 6) training and vocational interests; and 7) family circumstances, including any special needs of a child. 1/29/26, 9:29 AM State Plan NY FY26 - Original Submission https://dam-fns.usda.gov/sites/default/files/microsite/snapet-nyfy26stateplan//index.html 70/312
