Child Care Assistance is available to any family in New Mexico who is working or going to school, regardless of income or immigration status. Grandparents raising grandchildren, families caring for babies born substance-exposed, families experiencing housing instability, and families involved with the Children, Youth and Families Department (CYFD) do not need to meet the work or school requirement. If a participating child does not have a federally eligible citizenship status, the financial assistance will be paid for with state funds.
