Other base year options

If you don’t qualify with a regular base year, there are alternate base year options , especially if you’re filing after a period of disability. Department of Labor staff will determine if they need to use alternate base year options when they review your application.

If you lost your job because your TPS status ended, to get unemployment benefits you will need to both show that:

the wages you are using as the basis for your claim were earned while you were authorized to work in the United States AND

you have a new, current immigration status that allows you to work in the United States.
