MEAD Protected Earned Income (EI) Resources are liquid resources, including interest earned by the resources, accumulated solely from earnings by a MEAD-eligible individual while on MEAD and kept in a separate account from other liquid resources.

Treatment :

• A countable resource for recipients of MEAD.

• Exclude for the *non-MEAD *categories of medical assistance as long as the resource is kept in a separate account and not mixed with any other funds.

Exception: Count all Protected EI Resources if deposits are made after MEAD eligibility ends, or during the MEAD-eligible individual ’ s MEAD extension due to unemployment.
