State Supplement Program (SSP) financial assistance must not be provided to known fleeing felons, or probation or parole violators.

A fleeing felon is an individual who is fleeing to avoid prosecution, or custody or confinement after conviction, under the laws of the place from which the individual flees, for a crime, or an attempt to commit a crime, that would be classified as a felony (or in the State of New Jersey, a high misdemeanor).

A probation or parole violator is an individual who is violating a condition of probation or parole imposed under Federal or State law.

To be eligible for SSP financial assistance, the fleeing felon or probation or parole violator must provide proof that their legal obligations have been satisfied with respect to the felony crime or probation or parole violations.

For more information, see Section 225.01 , Disqualified Individuals .

Important: Fleeing felons and probation or parole violators continue to be eligible for SSP medical assistance, as long as all other eligibility requirements are met.
