212 QUALIFIED DISABLED AND WORKING INDIVIDUAL (AAM)

The Qualified Disabled and Working Individual (QDWI) Program provides limited medical assistance coverage that pays the Medicare Part A (hospital insurance) premium of disabled working individuals who have lost Medicare due to earnings.

To be eligible for assistance under QDWI, applicants:

• must be entitled to enroll in Medicare Part A;

• must be disabled and working and have have lost Medicare coverage due to earnings;

• cannot be eligible for benefits from any other medical assistance program;

• cannot have income that exceeds 200% of the current federal poverty level;

• cannot have resources that are more than twice the SSI limit; and

• must meet all general non-financial requirements of eligibility for medical assistance.
