113.05 Protective Payee Responsibilities (AAM)

The protective payee must do all of the following:

· Work closely with the individual;

· Help the individual learn how to manage household budgeting;

· Encourage active participation by the individual in the management of the individual ' s income, resources, and expenses;

· Receive the entire assistance payment, and pay bills for the well-being of the individual according to a budget planned with the individual;

· Maintain an accurate accounting of the individual ' s assistance payments;

· Cooperate with the Department in helping the individual; and

· Comply with the Department standards of confidentiality.
