003.02 DISABILITY.
To be eligible for the payment of the Medicare premium, an individual must continue to have a disabling impairment as determined by the Social Security Administration (SSA). The Social Security Administration (SSA) has the responsibility to verify periodically that the disability continues. If the Social Security Administration (SSA) determines through a continuing disability review that the individual is no longer disabled, the Department is notified and eligibility ceases. If the individual voluntarily withdraws from Medicare Part A premium coverage, then eligibility ceases.
