24-001.02C Spouse for Spouse Hardship Exemption

A hardship exemption may be granted to enable an eligibility determination using only the applicant’s resources in cases where it is noy possible to verify the resources of the non-institutionalized spouse due to inability to obtain complete information. This exemption can only be granted by Central Office. Note: If the community spouse is assisting the applicant with the application process or was living with the institutionalized spouse just prior to institutionalization, spouse for spouse financial responsibility applies.
