003.04(G) LOOK-BACK PERIOD FOR DISPOSAL OR TRANSFER OF RESOURCES ON OR AFTER FEBRUARY 8, 2006.
To determine if a client or his or her spouse deprived himself or herself of a resource to qualify for Medicaid, the Department must look back 60 months before the month of application. The look-back is triggered when the applicant first applies for Medicaid and is in a specified living arrangement or is on Medicaid and enters a specified living arrangement. When an applicant applies for Medicaid more than once, the look-back period is based on the first date the individual meets both of these requirements. The look-back period may include the three months prior to the month of application if retroactive Medicaid benefits are requested for those months.
