003.03(B) BENEFIT FUNDS.

If the applicant or recipient has benefit funds, such as funds raised by a benefit dance or auction, the Department must determine whether those funds are available as a resource. If the client or a financially responsible relative can access the benefit funds to pay for shelter costs, maintenance needs, or medical costs otherwise covered by Medicaid, then the funds are considered available.
