Medicaid covers ambulatory prenatal care for pregnant women on the basis of presumptive eligibility. The qualified provider may authorize a period of presumptive eligibility once per pregnancy. There is no presumptive eligibility under the 599 Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP).
