009.03 LUMP SUM BENEFITS.

Lump sums are not considered income. Any unspent remainder is considered a resource in the month following the month of receipt or report. If an individual in the unit receives several checks from the same source in one month, the amounts are totaled and considered a lump sum. When a unit receives a lump sum in the month of application, the lump sum is counted in the first month possible.
