PROVIDER DETERMINATIONS In accordance with 7 CFR 273.7(c)(18) a State agency must ensure that E&T providers are informed of their authority and responsibility to determine if an individual is ill-suited for a particular E&T component. Describe the process used by E&T providers to communicate provider determinations to the State agency. More Than A Job NC (MTAJ-NC) providers have the authority and responsibility to determine if a participant is unsuitable for a specific MTAJ-NC component. Using the MTAJ-NC assessment, the provider evaluates whether the participant is a good fit for their services. If deemed unsuitable, the provider must notify the State, ensuring decisions are free from discrimination against any protected class. Providers may seek guidance from the State at any time. During monitoring, the State will review provider determinations to confirm they are reasonable and compliant with Civil Rights laws. ABAWDs who receive a provider determination will not accrue countable months during the month they are notified. If the participant is only unfit for a specific component, State staff will refer them to another partner. Determinations are based on provider-specific criteria designed to identify individuals most likely to succeed in that component. The provider is required to notify the SA of a provider determination made via email (MTAJ-NC@dhhs.nc.gov) within ten (10) days. The participant will be notified within 10 days. Describe how the State agency notifies clients of a provider determination. The State Agency will notify the participant by mail or phone call to inform the participant of provider determination within ten (10) business days. The State Eligibility staff will conduct a reassessment with the participant to determine an appropriate MTAJ-NC referral or exempt from work requirements.
