There are three general eligibility requirements for the QMB program. To be eligible for the program, an individual must:

be enrolled in Part A Medicare (hospital insurance)

have income not exceeding the QMB standard of 100% of the Federal Poverty Level for assistance group size; and

have resources not exceeding the QMB resource maximums

Additionally, the QMB applicant must also meet the MHABD general eligibility requirements of:

citizenship/alien status

residency

Social Security number
