Live-in Attendant A live-in attendant lives in the group's home to provide housekeep- ing, medical or child care, or similar personal services. Persons who take someone into their own home to provide such services are not live-in attendants. The live-in attendant may apply for FAP as a separate group. Note: Spouses, parents and children, and persons acting as a parent and the children they care for cannot be live-in attendants for one another, regardless of the actual situation. Roomer A roomer is a person to whom the group furnishes lodging, but not meals, for compensation. The roomer(s) may apply for FAP as a separate group. Persons Who Have Already Received FAP Benefits A person must not participate as a member of more than one FAP group in any given month; see BEM 222, Concurrent Receipt of Benefits.
