BEACON Fixes to Remove Current Geographic Waiver (Continued)
Cases that are Pending Release Cases that have been previously wrapped with the “Resident of a Waived Area” reason will continue to show this reason in the SNAP Work Rules Screening page until the case is released. On the day the case is released, the batch will recalculate the SNAP Work Rules Screening page and remove the “Resident of a Waived Area” reason. Clients that do not meet any exemption will be subject to the ABAWD Work Rules following the first full calendar month after the current cyclical month.
Procedures for Staff
Important: Clients that lost their “Resident of a Waived Area” reason will be subject to the ABAWD Work Rules if no exemption is on file. Unclear Information Rules do not apply to this population, even if they lost this reason during case maintenance.
Eligibility staff must screen all clients who lose their ABAWD exemption/reason during their certification period if the client is on the phone or is in-person at a local TAO and are being seen by a worker.
Front end staff must ensure that when a client comes into a local office and reports receiving a notice stating they are now required to meet the work rules that they a registered to speak with an eligibility worker to be screened for exemptions.
Please see procedures regarding screening for exemptions during the certification period. This is outlined in the ABAWD Work Rules Exemptions Online Guide page.
