The current monthly household income is over the applicable income standard; and,
Projected annual income is below 100% FPL.
Household Composition
The household consists of: The tax filer; The tax filer’s spouse if filing jointly; and All other tax dependents.
Note: Non-filer households and applicants who file federal income tax return married filing separately (with limited exceptions such as for domestic violence) cannot be determined eligible for Medicaid using gap-filling rule.
Household Income Household income includes: The gross income of every household member required to file a federal income tax return; Income counted is based on projected annual income for the current calendar year; Example Susan and her husband, Jon, are both enrolled in Medicaid. Jon has been working the full year and earns $1083 per month. Susan did not have income from January through July. On August 5, Susan reports that she started a new job on August 1, earning $1,500 per month. Monthly income test (August): • $1,500 (Susan) + $1083 (Jon) = $2583 monthly household income.
