MEDICARE INELIGIBILITY

I-1100

I-1110 REQUIREMENT

To be eligible for Medicaid, the individual cannot be eligible for Medicare Part A (hospital insurance). This requirement applies only to:

● Early Widows/Widowers (H-641.3), and

● Disabled Widows/Widowers and Disabled Surviving Divorced Spouses Unable to Perform Any Substantial Gainful Activity (H-661.3).

I-1120 VERIFICATION

Verify ineligibility for Medicare Part A at application, renewal, and if otherwise indicated.

Sources of verification are:

● third party query,

● BENDEX, or

● other SSA records, correspondence or forms.

I-1130 DOCUMENTATION

Document and files a copy of the verification.
