The Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) is the single state agency under the Louisiana State Plan for administration of medical benefits.

State laws governing the Medicaid Program are in Title 46 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes.

B-700 MEDICAL CARE ADVISORY COMMITTEE

LDH has a Medical Care Advisory Committee (MCAC), which is mandated by Title XIX regulations. The MCAC consists of 25 persons and includes state legislators, physicians and other representatives of the health professions, members of consumer groups, including Title XIX beneficiaries and consumer organizations, and the Secretary of LDH or a designee of the Secretary.
